Beaver Groups, or rather Colonies, are for children between the ages of six and eight years. They are the youngest group within the Scouting movement.

We aim to run a varied programme throughout the year. We offer opportunities for all kinds of activities ranging from games, outdoor pursuits in the summer and craft activities, leading to activity and challenge badges.

Our aim is to encourage friendship and fun and allow our Beavers the chance to experience new activities both within our group and the wider District Group. Within the latter we participate in the Dominoes Rally, The District Sports Day, The Art Competition and go to the Scout Pantomime.

When possible we incorporate into our activities current items of interest or seasonal ideas. We encourage confidence but at the same time a sense of responsibility and understanding the needs of other people and the wider world.

We run a two year programme which we review termly so that we can add new ideas and leave out any that we feel are no longer useful. We have a theme for each evening which is followed through as the evening progresses.

We encourage our Beavers and parents to come to the occasional family services at the church, i.e. Harvest, the Remembrance Sunday Service, the traditional Beaver Nativity Play to name three occasions. Many of our Beavers go up to Cubs having gained the Chief Scout Bronze Award which is the highest award available to Beavers.

At the present time we have over a two year waiting list.
